Remodelled East St. Paul home offers the best in luxury and function

Sometimes numbers can be misleading.

Take for example the fact this 2,332-sq.-ft., two-storey home found at 2012 Roseneath Ave. in East St. Paul was built in 1949. You may think due to the home’s age it is dated.

Royce Finley of Royal LePage Prime Real Estate assures us that definitley isn’t the case here.

"It’s been in the family since 1949 and has had only two owners," he says. "Over the last number of years, it’s been completely remodelled by its owners. He’s a builder, and she’s an interior designer — so the updates are very contemporary and functional."

The function begins with a generous foyer which merges seamlessly with a spacious living room loaded with style and warmth. "That warmth comes from three-quarter-inch Beech hardwoods that run through the entire main floor — they’re gorgeous," says Finley.

Go through the door to the right of the kitchen, and you can eat breakfast or watch TV in the comfort of the enclosed porch, or enjoy a coffee at a table in the private, outdoor sitting area."

Then there’s the dining room, which is a spectacular space in its own right. "It’s a space that’s straight out of a home design magazine with its vaulted ceiling, beautiful light fixtures and a spacious area that can hold a dining table for 12 without a problem," he says.

"The serving area next to it was also made out of reclaimed wood."

Finley says the master suite is a truly special space.

It features a gorgeous Italian tile floor, huge window, glass/tile walk-in shower with rain showerhead and hand-held shower wand, deep soaker tub and white vanity with (grey) cultured marble countertop."

The main floor is then finished by a pair of very handy spaces.

"There’s also a three-piece bath with (corner) jetted soaker tub and a main floor laundry room," he says.

"They complete a layout that’s striking, yet functional."

Head upstairs, and the home’s practical yet stylish layout continues. Not only are there three generous-size bedrooms, but there’s a third full bath loaded with surprises.

"It’s not your ordinary four-piece bath — it actually has a steam shower with all the bells and whistles, so it adds another little touch of luxury that you don’t expect, but appreciate. In a nutshell, it kind of sums up the home. Style is woven subtly into all the function. Everything in the home works well; it’s tasteful and not overwhelming."
