Situated on a scenic lakefront lot in Bridgwater Trails, the striking two-storey Huntington Homes design meticulously covers all the bases with its luxurious yet practical design.

The lake view from the dining area is simply spectacular.

Few kitchen/dining areas can match the style, function and views offered at 130 Willow Creek Rd.

With its amazing lake view and warm barnwood feature wall behind the bed, the tranquil primary bedroom is sure to offer calming solitude at the end of long workdays.

There are many instances in life where it takes exceptional skill to make a difficult task look easy.

Take building a luxury home. With expectations high, a builder must come up with an original design that provides their client with a home that fits their lifestyle and personality, offering a seamless synergy of function and elegance.

Knowing that a luxury home is the sum of its total parts, the builder must first find the perfect lot, then meticulously design a home that meets a client’s every need.

Rob Swan of Huntington Homes says his new 2021 Fall Parade of Homes show home at 130 Willow Creek Rd. in Bridgwater Trails was designed to be the complete package.

"I think this home has all the bases covered," he says of the 2,646 sq. ft., two-storey design, which offers three well-considered levels of livability. "As is the case with every home we build, we put a lot of time and thought into its overall design."

Swan says everything starts with the lot on which the home is built.

"We chose this lot because of the incredible view it offered," he says. "No matter whether you’re in the dining area, family room or kitchen, you can see the lake stretching away to the left, framed by beautiful native grasses, with a beautiful bridge in the distance. It’s a picture-perfect view."

The same could be said for the home itself. Step inside, and the immediate impression is that everything fits.

Flow from the generous foyer into the great room is impeccable, the layout is logical and smooth, and the finishes, while rich and luxurious, envelop you with an elegance that’s classy, but not overdone.

"Our goal was to design a home that was modern yet warm," Swan explains. "With that in mind, we put in gorgeous, engineered oak hardwoods that look amazing with all their warm brown shades and texture. This is a spacious home, so the hardwoods, which run through the entire great room, give it a real feeling of warmth."

Then, to further accentuate that functional yet warm feel, the great room’s integrated yet subtly segmented design was complemented by a fetching combination of modern and traditional finishes.

"In the kitchen, additional warmth comes from vertical lift, rift oak cabinets up high. They offset grey cabinets down low, while the amazing quartz countertops come with a matching backsplash," says Swan. "There’s large island with contrasting brown base and black Blanco under-mounted double sink — and a walk-through pantry to the rear."

Meanwhile, the lake views from both the dining area and family room are simply breathtaking.

"Three large windows on the rear wall of both spaces look out over the lake from a perfect angle," he notes. "The dining area also has a patio door that leads out to a large, elevated deck, while the family room is warmed up nicely by a barnwood feature wall behind the fireplace. Even though it’s very spacious, the finishes make the great room a warm, inviting space."

More livability (and style) can be found upstairs, which is made up of three bedrooms, a huge laundry room — and a loft.

"The loft which comes with built-in speakers, can be used as either a media area, study area or fourth bedroom," Swan says. "The laundry room is huge, and the main bath is as luxurious as most ensuites. Both secondary bedrooms are oversized and come with walk-in closets."

Finally, there’s the primary bedroom, which caps off the second floor in modern-rustic style.

"A barnwood feature wall behind the bed provides warmth, while a huge window on the rear wall gives you an amazing view of the lake and bridge," he says. "And the ensuite is your own private spa with its heated tile floor, gorgeous glass/tile walk-in shower, air-jet soaker tub and a large walk-in closet with window and tons of built-in storage."

Head downstairs, and you find another 1,254 sq. ft. of eminently livable space.

"There’s a media area with lake view, games/exercise area with lake view and patio door to a covered patio, massive bedroom, gorgeous three-piece bath and mechanical room with high-efficient Carrier three-zone furnace with humidifier and structural wood floor," says Swan. "This home covers all the bases from start to finish with its luxurious yet practical design."
