This expansive Bridgwater Trails luxury home offers an abundance of space and style.

When designing a home it’s always easy to go big.

But putting all that space to good use in a king-sized layout can be a challenge.

Foxridge Homes’ design team went big and nailed it with this spectacular show home at 725 Bridge Lake Dr. in Bridgwater Trails, says Lisa Lawrence, new homes sales representative for the 2,494 square-foot, two-storey luxury home.

"Feedback on the home has been really positive," she says. "Everyone who’s been through says both the floor plan and the craftsmanship of the home is incredible. People have really noticed the attention to detail that went into the design."

If there’s one thing that stands out about the home, it’s that none of the space has been used haphazardly. Everywhere you go, it’s been used to full effect because there’s a purpose behind the overall design.

That livable yet stylish vibe starts in the foyer, says Lawrence.

"People have commented on how much they love the high ceiling and wide foyer with its multicolour tile floor and huge walk-in coat closet off to the side. It starts the home off in a grand but sensible way."

The foyer then transitions seamlessly into a wide hallway that makes it a snap to make your way toward the great room.

Lawrence says Foxridge’s design team added a very desirable feature between the foyer and great room. "They put in a main floor study to the right of the hallway," she says. "It’s something they really appreciated given that so many more people are working from home during the pandemic. It’s a very useful space."

The great room spreads out in front of you in spectacular yet sensible fashion.

"As soon as you walk in, you’re forced to stop and take it all in," Lawrence says. "It’s a stunning space, particularly in the way light flows into it from all the glass on its rear wall."

Thanks to a big window over the sink in the kitchen, a sliding patio door behind the dining area and floor-to-ceiling windows in the family room, the great room is bright and bold.

At the same time, gorgeous engineered birch hardwoods, with their texture and different shades of brown, provide the expansive area with an appropriate infusion of warmth.

"The kitchen — which is centred around a four-foot by four-foot island — offers plenty of space to create," she says. "It features two-tone cabinetry, off-white matte quartz countertops, a lovely tile backsplash and gunmetal, black and white appliances. There’s also an area to its rear that holds a powder room and mudroom that allows you to bring groceries in directly from the garage."

In a brilliant move, the dining area was set back about four feet next to the patio door and provides easy access to a huge composite deck that overlooks the wetlands behind the home.

Finally, there’s the family room. "It’s just an amazing space with its high ceiling, floor-to-ceiling windows — the lake view is incredible — and it has a gorgeous entertainment unit with its cultured stone feature wall, maple trim and oversized ribbon fireplace and TV niche," says Lawrence. "The staircase is also stunning in the way that the spindles define it, and maintain an open feel going up to the second floor."

The upstairs layout starts off with a big, bright loft with a handy laundry room carved discreetly into its far left-hand wall. A wide hallway to the right of the loft leads to a bedroom wing that features two oversized bedrooms placed on either side of a luxurious four-piece bath.

As it should be, the primary bedroom is in an area all its own next to the stairs. "It has everything you could possibly need — a dreamy ensuite with free-standing tub with feature wall beneath two corner windows, a gorgeous tile floor, rift-oak style vanity with storage, big walk-in closet — and a large window that provides a stunning lake view."

Not one detail was missed, says Lawrence.

"A lot of thought was put into its design — even though it’s a big home, the space was purposefully-used. The result is a beautiful yet livable home that’s a pleasure to spend time in on every level."
