Homebuilders prepare for Spring Parade of Homes

Manitoba event unparalleled in Canada

The annual Manitoba Spring Parade of Homes allows the province’s new-home builders to showcase their latest offerings.

The deep freeze we’ve experienced this past week makes it hard to believe, but spring is just around the corner and we are only four weeks away from the 2019 Spring Parade of Homes!

The Manitoba Home Builders’ Association’s Parade of Homes is the signature showcase event for Manitoba’s residential construction industry, providing Manitobans interested in building their new dream home an opportunity and experience unlike any other available in Canada.

The MHBA’s 2019 Spring Parade of Homes starts March 2 and runs through March 24. Tens of thousands of people are expected to be visiting parade show homes in many of Manitoba’s newest neighbourhoods to learn about the latest trends in new-home and interior design, the hottest new-home technology and building materials, and to potentially find their new dream home.

Manitoba’s Parades of Homes continue to be the biggest and best parades in Canada. This spring, there will be 132 unique new homes on display. When one considers that some of the larger parades in other Canadian cities range around 30 display homes, having more than 130 different options available to visit, each one with its own layout, materials, finishes and designs — means our parade gives Manitoba homebuyers a unique opportunity to see and experience the widest variety of home-building options in an actual home setting. An opportunity and showcase of this scope and size is uniquely Manitoban.

The MHBA’s Spring Parade of Homes will provide homebuyers with the chance to see firsthand the latest work by 31 of Manitoba’s leading home-building companies. It is also a great chance to check out and explore many of Manitoba’s newest neighbourhoods. This year’s spring parade will again feature show homes in the newest communities in and just outside the city of Winnipeg. There are also great show homes for viewing in Brandon, Niverville, Stonewall, La Salle, St. Adolph, West St. Paul and Headingley. Finding out which community has the right amenities and services that best fit your family is usually just as important as finding which new-home design is the right one for you. Taking in the Spring Parade of Homes is a great way to explore these wonderful communities and neighbourhoods.

In just four weeks, the best of the best of Manitoba’s new-home construction will once again be on display. Look for the Spring Parade of Homes magazine in the March 2 edition of the Winnipeg Free Press and at any Steinbach Credit Union. Our Parade of Homes magazine always contains great articles and features on the latest trends in home building and home design.

In the next few weeks, you can also visit our Parade of Homes page at the MHBA website at homebuilders.mb.ca for more information on each of the parade show-home listings. And be sure to follow the MHBA on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook for the latest parade news, to enter fun contests, and for featured show homes throughout the spring. MHBA builders are looking forward to seeing you at this year’s spring parade and welcoming you to your new home.

Lanny McInnes is president of the Manitoba Home Builders’ Association.
