Black trimmed letterbox windows and a black-trimmed patio door add light and style to the kitchen and dining area.

A study in contrasts, the island kitchen is jaw-droppingly beautiful.

The stunning primary bedroom’s layout and finishes are impeccable.

The roomy second floor loft could serve as a play/TV area for the kids, or be turned into a fourth bedroom if required.

Sometimes, a home just feels right the moment you step inside.
Foxridge Homes sales representative, Perry Mangat of Maximum Realty, says that’s the case with his 2,378 sq. ft., two-storey show home at 235 Yellow Moon Cres. in Sage Creek.
“I think the big things about this home is that it’s so spacious – that feel hits you as soon as you come in. You don’t feel boxed in at all – you feel like you can breathe.”
He adds that it doesn’t take long for people to have their breath taken away by what they see once they step from a subtly sunken, tiled foyer into the home’s main living area: an awe-inspiring kitchen.
“It hits you with wow factor right away,” notes Mangat. “One of the design features that really draws their attention are black trimmed letterbox windows that were placed over the sink, and over the cabinets. They not only look incredible, but they also let in lots of extra light.”
Not surprisingly, the kitchen island also garners plenty of attention.
“At about 10 feet long, it’s the perfect size for the space. It has a lowered eating area that seats three, with extra storage below,” he says. “Its white quartz countertop, which has subtle grey highlights, really complements the dark cabinetry well, too. The island is also a bit different, in that it incorporated a slide in range into its design instead of a sink.”
Then there’s the home’s rear portion, which holds two spaces: a spacious dining room that can seat anywhere from six to 10 guests, and a splendid great room.
Both areas come with glass-filled walls that accomplish two purposes, says Mangat.
“The first thing they do – there’s a sliding patio door with transom and two side windows behind the dining area and four large windows on the great room’s rear wall – is add visual interest with their optional black trim. Second, they let in lots of light. That makes for a naturally bright main living area where light comes in from all sides.”
At the same time, style and function co-exist in perfect harmony.
Nowhere is this more evident than in the great room, which puts an equal emphasis on elegance and efficiency.
“A gorgeous tray ceiling with built-in pot lights defines the space, while a custom entertainment unit with linear electric fireplace set in a beige tile surround down low with a TV nook with a herringbone tile/wood slat backdrop above is its focal point,” Mangat says. “As much as the space looks amazing, it’s also very functional.”
In a clever move, Foxridge’s design team added an extra dimension of function by carving a space into the left-hand wall.
“It’s actually a main floor study,” he says. “It comes with a built-in desk and can be closed off by a barn-style door. It’s a great use of space.”
The home’s stylish yet well-ordered feel continues upstairs, where space placement is as impressive as it is on the main floor.
“Visitors to the home have said they love that it starts off with a good-sized loft. It could be a fourth bedroom if needed but is most often used as a flex space that’s a great place for kids to play or watch TV.”
Meanwhile, both secondary bedrooms – they’re oversized – were placed to the rear on either side of a large laundry room and a spacious, elegant four-piece bath.
To maximize privacy, the primary bedroom was placed to the left of the stairs down a short hallway.
Step inside, and you feel like you’ve entered your own private, well-appointed world.
“It’s just so well laid out,” says Mangat. “It starts off with a large walk-in storage with built-in storage to the left, then continues on to the ensuite on the right, which comes with a two-foot by two-foot tile floor, black vanity with off-white quartz countertop and dual sinks – and a six-foot walk-in shower with gorgeous charcoal tile surround.”
Finally, there’s the bedroom, which was tucked neatly to the rear.
“Everything – the grey herringbone-patterned carpeting, grey walls, and huge windows with black curtains – comes together to create a rich, relaxing feel. It’s a wonderful, relaxing space.”
Mangat says the home will also come with an added feature: a fully finished lower level that will be included in its selling price.
“It’s the total package. With Foxridge Homes, you get lots of standard features, in a custom-built home that you can get built exactly to your specifications for 10 per cent down. Foxridge makes building easy and is all about helping you build your dream home.”
