The penthouse suite in this Charleswood complex offers plenty of space, luxury and a quiet location.

One of the biggest issues that people have with apartment-style condominiums, especially high-end ones, is that they don’t live like a single-detached family home.

Consequently, empty nesters looking to downsize to a luxury condominium often end up disappointed when a suite lacks the utility, layout, and style that their former spacious and beautifully-finished home possessed in spades.

A penthouse condominium found in a quiet, well-treed compound off Roblin Boulevard has none of those shortcomings, says Laura Foubert of Royal LePage Dynamic Real Estate.

“This 2,332 square-foot condo is spectacular, yet it’s also very practical,” she says. “It features quality design and décor at every turn.”

She notes that the spacious suite’s stylish, yet livable design starts with a fantastic foyer.

“I’ve never seen a foyer like this in a condominium. There’s so much space, two skylights on the ceiling above that add style and let in loads of natural light, and a huge walk-in closet that offers plenty of storage space. It notifies you that this is a special place right from the start.”

A wide doorway at the end of the long, wide foyer then provides access to a breathtaking main living area set beneath a 10-foot-high ceiling.

“Large, open spaces – the kitchen, dining area and media area – are accentuated by all the natural light that pours in from all the windows that surround it,” says Foubert. “And because you’re up high, you feel like you’re up in the treetops, especially in the summer when everything is in bloom. The views from the two balconies, one faces east and the other south, are amazing.”

At the same time, a warm, luxurious feel is created by the rich finishes that populate the wide-open area.

“First of all, the flooring is gorgeous, engineered oak with a light cappuccino stain,” she says. “And the island kitchen is simply gorgeous with its matte black cabinets, walnut accents, quartz countertops, glass backsplash, under cabinet lighting and stainless LG appliances.”

Then, there’s the living room, which adds a subtle touch of wow factor to the design mix.

“Its focal point is a black-and-white porcelain tile feature wall with TV nook and electric fireplace with walnut trim. All the windows that surround it let in natural light, while a custom stainless wine rack and dry bar with wine fridge add a special touch of style and function to the space,” Foubert says.

It’s then on to the bedroom wing, which is the epitome of sensible luxury.

In all, it houses six spaces: a laundry room, four-piece bath, bedroom, den, storage room and primary bedroom.

“The laundry room is huge and comes with a beautiful tile floor and tons of custom storage space, while the den is a perfect workspace with an upgraded, oversized window that lets in lots of natural light,” she says. “The bathroom is gorgeous, the second bedroom is huge, and the storage room is massive. All the spaces in the suite are a generous size.”

Finally, there’s the expansive primary bedroom, which is simply dazzling.

“Again, the finishes are incredible, starting with the feature wall behind the bed, which is made up of walnut planks imported from Montreal,” says Foubert. “There’s also a huge corner walk-in closet, and an amazing ensuite.”

Featuring a distinct spa-like ambience, the bright, private space is filled with rich finishes and accessories that are eye-catching, yet practical.

“The tile floor is heated, while the 10-foot-long floating vanity features walnut drawers, a quartz countertop with double sinks, upgraded LED lights over custom mirrors and a free-standing soaker tub with black sheer feature wall behind it. The walk-in shower offers a handheld sprayer and temperature control valve.”

She adds that the complex comes equipped with a long list of desirable amenities.

“Residents have access to a gym, resident’s lounge and furnished guest suite,” Foubert notes. “The suite also comes with two oversized indoor parking spots with storage lockers, as well.”

The spacious, immaculately finished suite is the perfect landing spot for downsizers looking to make the transition from a king-sized home to a turnkey condo that’s loaded with style and function, she concludes.

“This one-of-a-kind corner penthouse is just so impressive with its wonderful, spacious floor plan and sleek, modern, sophisticated styling. It’s a downsizer’s dream.”
