I live in a tent. Well compared to a listing realtor extraordinaire Marcia Bergen of Century 21 Bachman & Associates currently has, I do.
So any of you with a cool $1.5 million kicking around from cashing in your COVID empties — may want to have a look at this.
What a stunning home. I’d buy it but, uh, I can’t afford it. Hate it when that happens.
You’ll find this modern day palace at 30 Prairie Oaks Cove, "just minutes from the west perimeter and nestled amongst the trees along a creek."
Sounds pretty doesn’t it? It is.
The listing description had me drooling even more than usual. This home offers over 5,000 square-feet of custom finished space complete with granite counters, hardwood and cork floors on the main as well as high end quality kitchen and appliances.
See that wouldn’t work for me either, because I’d have to hire a high end chef to use the high-end kitchen and appliances — because I don’t cook.
It also has a soaring ceiling combined with floor to ceiling windows which allow an abundance of light in. Triple attached garage, generous size laundry/mud room, main floor office, sitting room and an open concept living space make this home perfect for numerous lifestyles.
Perfect indeed.
And not only is there a fireplace but, a two-sided fireplace divides the main living area from the master suite, which also includes direct access to the deck, a dreamy ensuite with a heated floor and a large walk-in closet."
Oh my.
The lower level is completely finished and includes walk-out access to a three season sunroom, not to mention the great outdoors where you’ll find a gorgeous inground pool and a large fireplace/grill. The backyard fireplace by the way is the size of a cathedral. Amazing.
Other lower level amenities include a theatre room, gym space, full bath and two additional bedrooms.
There’s also a big pool outside and a big pool table inside. Paradise.
The only downside I can see, from looking at the overhead drone shot, is that the yard doesn’t appear to have much room to park old cars.
Mind you, if you filled up the grassy areas with old cars you wouldn’t have any mowing to do.
It’s listed as a bungalow.
The first home we bought was a bungalow, 750 square feet. This bungalow has 2,400 square-feet in the basement area alone.
No surprise that this magnificent home also has three full bathrooms.
Takes me back to the big two storey home we lived in when I was but a wee lad growing up in Killarney.
It was definitely big enough to have three bathrooms, but no, it had one. And since water and sewer hadn’t reached our house yet, the bathroom was actually a wooden toilet lid on a big cannister type thing that had to be emptied regularly, and that washroom was deep in the dark reaches of our old dirt floor fieldstone basement, lit brilliantly with maybe one 40-watt light bulb. Dad was a generous kind man, but frugal, especially with the use of electricity.
And no, the floor was not heated.
Bergen will be happy to show you this beautiful home once you’ve turned in your empties, it would definitely be a very WOW place to live.
Another big bonus with this home? Geo-Thermal heating. If you don’t know what that is ask Professor Google, I don’t have room to explain it here. Bergen, on the other hand can answer any and all questions you may have about this stunning home.

Have a warm and wonderful weekend.
