Cut perfectly square holiday brownies with the help of a ruler, toothpick and pizza cutter.
Question: I have been asked to bring brownies to my daughter’s school. Do you have a delicious frosting recipe? How can I cut the squares so each piece is even and straight? Thanks. — Kim
Answer: Line your baking pan with parchment paper. Grease and flour as directed. Bake your favourite brownie recipe. While the brownies are still in the oven, combine the following icing mixture: one tablespoon honey, three tablespoons softened margarine or butter, three tablespoons of cocoa powder, one teaspoon vanilla and one cup icing sugar. Spread onto brownies after they come out of the oven while still warm.
This amount of icing is used for 8" x 8" pans (double if needed). Decorate with coloured sprinkles or other candies. Leave overnight in the fridge. In the morning, lift parchment paper with brownies onto the counter. Using a pizza cutter wheel (or plastic knife), slice the squares. For perfectly even size brownies, use a ruler and mark brownie squares with a toothpick before cutting.
Question: I have tried oils and a variety of stainless steel cleaners, but I cannot get drip marks off my stove and fridge. Help! — Mari
Answer: The easiest technique for removing drips on stainless steel appliances is to wipe them with a soft cloth and white vinegar. Next, polish appliances with a little olive oil, then remove excess oil.

• I use Easy-Off oven cleaner in the blue can to remove hard water sediment from tub and shower walls. It works like a charm on old and new tub materials. Spray it on, leave 30 minutes, wash down with a soft scrubby and warm soapy water. Towel dry. You will be amazed. No tubs have been harmed in the process, but they shine like new. — Mari
• My best solution for removal of chewing gum (I hate it on my shoes) is to use lighter fluid. It works amazingly well. Pour on and work in with finger or toothbrush and it will literally roll off. It is also excellent for removal of store stickers and glue residue. I have never had it ruin anything. — Pat
