Hopefully, you were one of the thousands of people who took advantage of the Ask a Renovator booth at the recent Winnipeg Home and Garden Show.
Various RenoMark renovator members of the Manitoba Home Builders Association were available for free 15 minute consultations to help consumers with their renovation questions concerning large, small and not-yet-started projects. This session always proves popular and starts the renovation juices flowing.
However, maybe you were out of town and missed the opportunity. Maybe you’re not at the stage where you have a definite project. Maybe you have questions about how to get started. Maybe there are other aspects, such as energy savings or financing, concerning your project that need to be answered first.
Then what you’re looking for is the Renovation Seminar Wednesday, April 13 at the Victoria Inn. Registration starts at 6 p.m. with presentations beginning at 6:30 p.m.
This seminar deals with how and what to look for when considering a renovation project. You’ll be told what to consider when planning a renovation; what to look for and ask when considering hiring a renovator; and what warning signs to watch for so you can be sure that you are confident proceeding.
Representatives from Steinbach Credit Union will be there to talk about how to best finance a renovation. Manitoba Hydro will tell you how to take advantage of energy savings and share a few programs that pay you to renovate. The Planning Property and Development Department of the City of Winnipeg will help clarify zoning and permits.
Of course, the feature presenters will be MHBA RenoMark renovators who will be there to walk you through the renovation process and answer your questions about your present or future renovation projects.
Although the format is primarily presentation, there is always a lively question and answer period during and after the presentations.
In addition, all of the various projects from the MHBA RenoMark Renovation of the Year Awards will be on display that evening. Over 30 projects will be highlighted with pictures and descriptions.
The Renovation Seminar is free. Bring all of your questions and get started on that much-needed renovation project you’ve been waiting all winter to tackle.
