This modern two-storey house at 58 Park Springs Bay is located near a pair of wetland areas in the community of Waterford Green.

The kitchen has quartz countertops, maple cabinets, built-in gas cooktop, corner pantry and an eight-foot island that seats four.

As communities go, Waterford Green doesn’t enjoy the notoriety of the Bridgwater communities or Sage Creek.

Perhaps the reason for that is that it’s tucked away off Dr. Jose Rizal Way in the city’s northwest quadrant in a special spot that, while known to people in the area, remains relatively unknown to those who live in other parts of the city.

That’s a shame, as the community — which features a pair of wetland areas, scenic green space and active play areas that include sports fields and playgrounds — rivals those other areas with its beauty, livability and overall design.

Waterford Green features a wide range of home designs, including luxury homes that back on to the gorgeous wetlands.

One of those homes is 58 Park Springs Bay, a 2,230-sq.-ft., two-storey luxury home that was recently listed by Jennifer Queen of Re/Max Professionals.

"This home is only four years old and is a stunning, custom-designed masterpiece that has it all," she says. "It was designed to take advantage of its location, and to offer a family all kinds of livability."

The first thing that strikes you about the home is how naturally bright it is.

That’s no accident, Queen says.

"The rear of the home was purposely filled with large windows to let in as much natural light as possible and to highlight the wetlands in behind it. A big window over the double sink in the kitchen overlooks the wetlands, while a pair of floor-to-ceiling windows in the living room frame the water view and let in all kinds of natural light."

Meanwhile, a novel floor plan endows the great room with character and function.

"I love how the upper-level staircase was placed between the living room and the kitchen/dining area," she says. "It basically divides the great room into two halves, making for an area that’s open-concept, but not too much so. The two areas are defined, yet a wide entrance between the two areas makes it easy to travel back and forth between the two spaces."

Moreover, both spaces — which share rich, hand-scraped espresso maple hardwoods — are quietly spectacular.

While the living room — with its soaring ceiling, wall of windows, abundance of natural light and gorgeous gas fireplace — is the home’s showpiece, the kitchen/dining area is also impressive, Queen adds.

"It has all the upgrades — quartz countertops; a host of white, soft-close maple cabinets; a built-in gas cooktop; corner pantry; and an eight-foot island that seats four. The dining area, which can hold a table for four to eight, is set opposite a big window and patio door that will lead out to a future elevated deck. There’s also a den and powder room on the main floor."

Make your way upstairs and you find a loft/play area, four-piece bath and three bedrooms, including a well-appointed master suite.

"The master suite is a wonderful retreat that comes with a huge walk-in closet and large, spa-like ensuite with soaker tub, four-foot custom tile shower with tempered glass surround, tile floor and Thunder maple vanity with dual sinks," Queen says. "A big picture window also provides wonderful wetland views, too."

A bright, fully finished walk-out basement then takes the home’s total livable space to more than 3,200 sq. ft.

"With about 1,000 sq. ft. of space, the walk-out basement offers large windows throughout, a spacious rec room, three additional bedrooms, a four-piece bathroom and ample storage. It finishes off the home perfectly."

Big families looking for a luxury home that offers space, style and a great location should take a long look at 58 Park Springs Bay, Queen says.

"Its quiet bay location is ideal for a family, as is its layout. Not only is it a very functional home, but you get six bedrooms, an office, loft and a walk-out basement. The livability, style and value that this home offers is tremendous — it truly is spectacular in every way."
