Realtor Tony Martone had one clear-cut goal in mind when he and his wife Tessie conceived his new company, Beyond The Sale Realty. "I think there’s a real need to provide better customer service to buyers and sellers, and a higher level of training for realtors," he said. "With that in mind, we opened the doors to our office (at 3605 Roblin Blvd.) on August 1. Here, people aren’t just a number. We’re a family who helps families with all their real estate needs. The relationship we’ve established with our clients doesn’t stop when the for sale sign comes down."
Although the company is in its formative stages — Martone, Tessie and their office assistant are its only employees — they are committed to doing what they can to make a difference in the real estate industry. "We’ve always been in business, so Beyond The Sale Realty is a natural progression for us, essentially an extension of our business philosophy," said Martone. "As a seller’s representative specialist, accredited buyer’s representative and certified agent specialist, we will be coaching and mentoring other realtors on how to build their business. We want to help bring a higher level of professionalism to the industry."
With real estate becoming increasingly complicated, it’s essential realtors provide knowledgeable, professional service to their clients, who are making the biggest purchase of their life. "Buying a home or a condominium — or selling your home — is a complex process," he said. "Not only is it the realtor’s responsibility to guide their clients through it, but they should also be there to help them after the deal is done. We can help our clients get connected with reputable renovators, help them buy furniture and appliances and flooring, and even help them get their alarm system set up."
That’s where the notion of old-fashioned customer service comes in, added Martone. "Bigger companies aren’t necessarily totally committed to looking after their clients’ needs after a deal is completed," he explained. "With us, there aren’t as many costs, and we have one central location people can come to. To us, customer service means building relationships by being genuine, asking the right questions and being there for our clients as long as they need us."
Even after the alarm system has been installed and the furniture and appliances have been delivered, clients can expect Beyond The Sale Realty to keep tabs on how they’re faring in their new home. "We stay in touch with clients by phone and with emails, as well as newsletters and events," said Tessie. "Even at our open house today (Aug. 27), we had past clients drop by to wish us well; even some folks who we might be working with in the near future came by to say hi."
Tony said people truly appreciate genuine, personalized service. "I know it’s an old concept, but we actually make the effort to pick up the phone and call people. We don’t text them or send post cards, we call them. We’re here to help people with all their real estate needs, whether it’s buying, selling, relocation or even investments (Tessie is a certified investment specialist). Our mission is to drive home the need for customer service, and to demonstrate the huge difference it can make to clients, and the industry."
