A 20-foot ceiling, wall of windows and an amazing wetland view make the family room a special space.

This large luxury home makes a statement with its tyndall stone and acrylic stucco exterior.

Space, style and utility abound in the gorgeous island kitchen.

The walk-out lower level offers a media area with patio access, exercise room, two bedrooms, laundry room and three-piece bath.

Drive through any neighbourhood and there always seems to be one home that stands out from the rest.

In this instance, 28 Willow Brook Rd., a 3,387-square-foot two-storey home built by Huntington Homes in 2018, immediately catches your eye. With its rich Tyndall stone and acrylic stucco exterior and immense width, it makes an immediate statement.

Clearly, this is no ordinary luxury home.

"It sure isn’t," says the listing agent for the Bridgwater Lakes beauty, Steve Mackenzie of Royal LePage Dynamic Real Estate. "It offers the finest finishes and an excellent layout that flows beautifully from start to finish. The design of this home is simply impeccable."

In other words, this is a home that’s spectacular yet sensible — something that isn’t always the case with luxury homes, where builders sometimes put fashion before function.

Not the case here, as a wide foyer with a rich yet tasteful dark taupe tile floor with matte finish ushers you inside.

A few steps in, you encounter a cool yet practical space to the right: a spacious den fronted by sliding french doors with tempered glass panels set in black trim. Take a few more strides, and you then find yourself standing in an awe-inspiring great room that offers a perfect synergy of style and livability.

Featuring an open yet integrated design, it’s comprised of four spaces: a stunning family room with 20-foot ceiling and floor-to-ceiling wall of windows, a huge island kitchen, solarium-like dining area and a four-season sunroom that was placed in a pristine spot to the left of the dining area.

"The use of space is really good, and flow from space to space is as good as you’ll find anywhere — each space is accessible, yet separate," Mackenzie notes. "There’s just so much natural light, and the views of the wetlands behind the home are simply amazing. It’s a home that’s ideal for entertaining and family life."

Simply put, nothing in the great room is out of place.

The kitchen — which is centred around a huge island that seats four and was outfitted with an additional food prep area/spice kitchen that can be accessed through a doorway on its left-hand side — is a sight to behold with white Euro cabinets that perfectly complement a host of dark rift oak cabinets, a textured (light) taupe tile backsplash and a built-in stainless double oven.

Meanwhile, the adjacent dining area, surrounded by a trio of huge windows and a patio door that leads out to a huge composite deck that overlooks the wetlands, can capably host large gatherings or intimate family meals.

Mackenzie says the four-season sunroom, it’s just a few steps from the dining room, is one gem of a space.

"It’s just a perfect spot to sit and visit with guests after dinner or to relax in at the end of the day. The wetland view is just spectacular. So is the family room, with its wall of windows, tiled entertainment unit and its beautiful staircase."

A practical work of art, the open riser staircase defined artistically by matte black railing with tempered glass inserts that ensure light flow to the home’s upper level isn’t interrupted, leads up to the second floor, which is as spectacular and sensible as the main floor.

Predictably, both secondary bedrooms are huge (after all, the home is nearly 3,400 sq. ft.).

"One bedroom is currently being used as a dressing area, but could easily be converted back to a bedroom," he says. "The four-piece main bath is as luxurious as most ensuites, and the master suite is a just a stunning space."

Neatly separated from the other bedrooms, it starts features a rear wall filled with floor-to-ceiling windows that allow copious amounts of natural light to flow inside while simultaneously providing a near-panoramic view of the wetlands below.

Then, there’s the ensuite.

"It’s a spa-inspired space that features a custom glass and marble walk-in shower, air jet soaker tub next to a huge window, split double vanity, heated tile floor and huge walk-in closet with built-in organizers," says Mackenzie. "It’s also wired for sound."

Finally, there’s the walk-out lower level, which holds a media area with wet bar, patio door off the media area that opens on to a covered patio with hot tub, two bedrooms, a three-piece bath and exercise area.

"If you’re looking for a luxury home, you won’t find anything that comes close to this one," he says. "Its construction quality and design is impeccable, and the attention to detail throughout is exceptional. This is an absolutely spectacular home."
