A fireplace framed by vertical windows provides a stunning focal point for the living room at 157 Red Moon Rd. in Sage Creek.
Sometimes, the most pleasant surprises just seem to jump out at you from out of the blue.
That’s the case with Stone Ridge on the Creek Condominiums in Sage Creek, Sherri Baldwin of RE/MAX Executives Realty says.
"They are a small collection of attached townhome-style condominiums that Randall Homes built on Red Moon Road in 2008," she says. "Driving by on Sage Creek Boulevard, they’re tucked out of the way, so you don’t see them. But once you do, you can’t help but be blown away by how well-done the townhomes are."
A prime of example of those well-appointed townhomes is 157 Red Moon Rd., a 1,637-sq.-ft., two-storey unit that Baldwin recently brought to the market.
"Stunning is the word that best describes this amazing condo," Baldwin says. "With its functional layout and beautiful decor, it feels and lives like a home. Not only that, but it’s also situated in a prime spot. It’s just steps away from Sage Creek’s Village Centre with all its amenities — and also overlooks gorgeous wetlands out back."
The moment you step inside the three-bedroom unit — which also comes with two full baths, two half-baths and a fully finished basement — you realize this is no ordinary townhome.
That’s because few townhome units start off with a grand foyer with a formal dining room to its left and hallway to the right that houses a powder room, main-floor laundry and door that leads to an attached double garage.
It only gets better from there, Baldwin says.
"A wide entrance takes you into the great room, a space that’s as nice as you’ll find in a high-end luxury home. There’s an open-concept gourmet kitchen to the left that features a 10-foot island with sink and eating nook for two, granite countertops, maple cabinets, tile backsplash, corner pantry and newer stainless steel appliances."
The adjacent dinette area, which is framed discreetly a by picture window and patio door on its rear wall, not only provides an additional eating area, but also leads to a special outdoor space, she adds.
"The patio door leads out to a south-facing covered deck with gas barbecue hook-up that overlooks the landscaped yard and wetlands. It’s a beautiful spot that’s perfect for relaxing or visiting with guests when you entertain."
Then there’s the family room, a space that can only be described as flat-out spectacular.
"It features a soaring 17-foot ceiling, a stone-clad fireplace with floor-to-ceiling windows either side and a stack of three mirrors overtop a beautiful maple ledge. Natural light just streams in from the windows, and the wetland view is incredible," Baldwin says. "The floor-to-ceiling windows even come equipped with custom mechanical blinds."
An angled staircase defined by a maple railing with bronze satin spindles then leads up to a bright second level that holds four spaces — three bedrooms and a well-appointed four-piece bath — that fan out beautifully around a generous landing.
"I love all the big windows in the bedrooms, they let in tons of light along with the windows in the family room below. Both secondary bedrooms are a good size, and the master suite is a lovely space that offers an ensuite with jetted soaker tub and shower, big walk-in closet and beautiful views of the wetlands."
Last but not least, there’s the fully finished lower level, which adds a third level of livability to the spotless unit.
"It’s equipped with media and games areas, a flex room, two-piece bath and lots of storage," she says. "It also comes with a high-efficiency furnace, central vacuum, sump pump and central exhaust system."
Few townhome condominiums offer the bang for the buck that 157 Red Moon Rd. does, Baldwin says.
"A comparable single-family home — one that’s on the water, filled with upgrades and that has three bedrooms, four bathrooms, a spectacular great room and covered backyard deck with a wetland view — would cost considerably more.
"This like-new condo offers a great location, tons of upgrades and a great layout. The value it offers is off the charts."
