For just a moment, think of what it would be like to live in Osborne Village.

Most of us -- for better, or worse -- would picture living in a vibrant area dominated by street traffic, sidewalks filled with pedestrians and trendy shops and restaurants. In essence, making the choice to live there would entail having to put up with constant noise and activity.

While that atmosphere is fine for some, for others, it is not. At the end of the day -- while their preference is to live in a central area -- they want to come home to a (at least relatively) quiet, serene location.

Such an area actually exists in Osborne Village, said Monopoly Realty's Marc Myers.

"River Loft Condominiums, which is located at 118 Wilmot Place, is on what I think a real gem of a street," he said. "It's a quiet little pocket with very little traffic where the complex, which has only four condominiums, is surrounded by mature trees and grass. It's a central location -- you can get anywhere in the city from there quickly -- but it's also a serene, beautiful place to call home."

He added there is now an opportunity to own a contemporary condominium there.

"The units in River Loft Condominiums are rarely available, but we now have one that's come up for sale: a gorgeous, luxury condominium that offers the best in urban lifestyle. It's an absolutely stunning unit that offers a wonderful blend of style and function."

No Realtor-speak there. At 2,049 square feet spread out over two levels, unit 1, 118 Wilmot Place is something of a hidden jewel. Built to cater to the needs of a professional couple, the spacious unit features full open spaces and excellent front-to-back sightlines on the main floor.

That design gives the unit's main floor a distinct house-like feel, as each space is generously proportioned: The living room, located to the left of the foyer, is 20 feet by nearly 12 feet; the dining room is 11.675 by 11.75 feet and feels larger due to its close proximity to the living room; and the eat-in kitchen is massive at 18.2 feet by 13.25 feet. An office to the left of the kitchen is 11.75 feet by nearly nine feet.

Not only are the spaces big, but they're also bright, added Debbie Myers.

"Take the living room, for example," she said. "There's a big picture window on the front wall, and then a series of (three) transom windows on the left-hand wall next to the dining room that let in more light -- and make for your own live art display as they provide a beautiful view of the trees' leaves in spring, summer and fall. The colours are absolutely gorgeous."

Meanwhile, more light cascades into the kitchen via six-foot-wide patio doors that lead to a balcony that's ideal for grilling and entertaining. The office also features a large window, so the interior is well-lit no matter where you go.

The main floor is also highly functional, and stylish, due to its well-conceived floor plan and high-end finishes.

"Because of all the room, flow from space to space is excellent, while the finishes -- espresso maple hardwoods, espresso maple cabinets, taupe tile floor (in the kitchen), and taupe tile backsplash -- create a rich, warm feel," she said. "Features such as a seven-foot by 3-1/2 foot island with seating for three, a big pantry and corner sink make for a kitchen that's both beautiful and functional."

Head downstairs, and you happen upon -- of all things -- a walk-out lower level.

"It's something that you don't expect," said Marc. "There's patio doors off the media area that lead out to a private, sunken patio that's a great spot to relax with a drink, or entertain. The doors also make for a bright media area, that, incidentally, is situated on espresso maple hardwoods that's surrounded by tan and burnt-orange walls. It's an area that's contemporary and very tastefully done."

To the right of the media area is a private wing that houses two bedrooms, a four-piece bath, a mechanical/storage room, closet and another storage room. The second bedroom, which comes equipped with a walk-in closet and huge window, is 13.75 feet by 10.5 feet, while the master suite, which was placed at the end of the hall, is 17.5 feet by 13.7 feet.

"It's an exceptionally spacious space that features espresso maple hardwoods, an electric fireplace, walk-in closet and four-piece ensuite with taupe tile floor, espresso maple vanity and tub/shower surround with soaker tub," he added. "It's a space that makes for a wonderful retreat at the end of a long day."

Debbie Myers said professional couples looking to live a hassle-free lifestyle in a central, yet quiet location should have a look at the one-of-a-kind unit.

"You're not giving up anything coming from a house," she said. "There's plenty of space to spread out, and, best of all, you don't have to spend time on maintenance -- everything is done for you. Without those worries, you can go for walks on Wellington Crescent, which is just a block away, or walk to dinner cafés and restaurants in Osborne Village and Corydon Avenue, or walk over to The Forks. It's a location that offers the best of both worlds -- convenience, and solitude."
