QUESTION: We've recently moved into a house that is approximately six years old and there is a candle or waxy type of odour in the linen closet. Please let me know how to get rid of it. ANSWER: The fact that you painted the walls and noticed no change makes me wonder if the odour is coming from the floor or the doors of the closet. Have you tried cleaning the flooring and staining or painting the doors? Another option is adhering scented shelf paper onto each shelf. Or place a dish of fresh coffee grounds on one of the shelves to absorb the odour.
QUESTION: I'm just checking to see if you have a solution for tight socks around the ankles, I was wondering if a person can stretch them with heat so they stay stretched. Thank-you. Abe, Winnipeg
ANSWER: Keep heat away from the socks, soak them in cold water and stretch them by fastening them to a clothesline with clothes pins. Or pull the cold sock band over a large jar to stretch them as they dry. Hot water and/or the dryer will shrink the socks.
QUESTION: I completed an at-home dye job on my eyebrows. It stained all areas around my eyebrows black; I look like a scary monster. Help please. Dorothy, Winnipeg
ANSWER: Here are a few tricks to try -- being careful not to get too close to your eyes. Put a little Vaseline or glycerin or olive oil or rubbing alcohol onto a cotton ball. Carefully wipe around your eyes.
