I collect colanders at garage sales and use them as planters. I have the most colourful collection of planters on my block. This year I am giving a colourful colander and fresh herb plant to my mother and mother in-law for Mother’s Day.

I used to have a problem with soggy salads. Now I place an upside down plate on the bottom of my salad bowl. The excess dressing runs off of the plate and the lettuce leaves remain crispy.
